For those of you with an interest in Indigenous issues you won’t want to miss the 9th Covenant Chain Link event which takes place at the Immaculata High School Friday, October 19th and Saturday, October 20th.
The focus of this year’s CCL event is “ReconciliACTION” – What churches, public institutions and Indigenous organizations
in the Ottawa-Gatineau region are doing to move forward with reconciliation between Indigenous and Non Indigenous peoples in Canada.
The event opens with the NFB film “Martha of the North” on Friday at 7 pm. This will be followed by a day of programming on Saturday that will include presentations and workshops on “moving forward with reconciliation” with various organizations and churches. A light lunch
will be provided.
Max FineDay is our keynote speaker on Saturday. He is a citizen of Sweetgrass First Nation, SK and Executive Director of Canadian Roots Exchange.
